Lenzing Ecovero Care Instructions

About LENZINGTM Ecovero

LENZINGTM Ecovero is a sustainable fabric derived from certified renewable wood, sourced from responsibly managed forests. Its production process minimises environmental impact, making it a more eco-friendly alternative to conventional rayon. We've blended Ecovero with Spandex to create a fabric that follows body movements freely, providing flexibility, breathability, softness and maximum comfort.

Understanding Pilling

Lenzing Ecovero, like other natural fibres, can be more prone to pilling than synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon. Pilling occurs when the more vulnerable, looser fibres within a fabric are working their way out of the garment, forming a small knot that sits on the surface of the fabric. Garment styles with exposed fibres are more prone to pilling because they are more likely to experience friction and tangle, leading to the formation of pills. While Ecovero may pill with wear, its eco-friendly properties make it a perfect choice for those who prioritise sustainability in their wardrobe selections.

As a natural fibre, Lenzing Ecovero is biodegradable, meaning it will break down naturally over time. This is one of the reasons we prefer using natural fibres to synthetic, plastic-based fibres that are commonly used in activewear, which are non-biodegradable and contribute to landfill waste. This environmental benefit is a key factor in our choice of materials.

Reducing Pilling

There are ways in which you can reduce pilling by washing your pieces inside out to reduce friction on the outer surface, using a gentle wash cycle or hand washing with natural detergent, and avoiding abrasive surfaces.

Care Instructions

To keep your pieces looking their best, we recommend turning the garment inside out and washing on a cold gentle cycle. Plant-based detergents are best, but any natural detergent that does not contain synthetic chemicals or citrus juice are recommended. Strong chemicals or fragrances may cause discolouration and/or the natural fibres to weaken.

To dry, lay your garment flat in a shady area away from direct sunlight as this may cause discolouration. If using a dryer, choose a low-heat setting. You can gently steam or iron on low heat, just take extra care.

We recommend keeping your Indigo Luna pieces folded neatly and store them in a cool, dry place to maintain their shape and condition.
