Oaxaca Travel Guide

Maya Poon doesn’t travel through places as much as she listens to them. In Oaxaca, she found somewhere that mirrored her inner world back to her.

She sees Oaxaca as a living ecosystem of contrasts, traditions, textures, and spirit. A place where biodiversity exists not only in the land itself, but within the people who move through it. From sacred caves and mountain villages to bustling markets and wild coastline, Maya's guide traces the places that make Oaxaca feel endlessly alive.

Read her words below ♡

Oaxaca — A sacred land I call home.

Oaxaca is the most biodiverse state of Mexico — the topography, flora and fauna can change within an hour of drive — and it keeps changing. The birds, the wildflowers, the colors of the earth — infinite — each carrying its own nature, story, role in the ecosystem.

Here, I feel at home.

Here, I feel that all the colors that exist within me can be — simply be.

Here, my own biodiversity can be expressed.

Are we not, after all, just a landscape carrying our own rivers, mountains, colors of emotions?

Thank you, Maya, for giving us a glimpse into this sacred land ♡
